As part of our mission to increase access to health, social and leisure opportunities for adults with learning disabilities, Go Ability Trust aim to raise awareness of accessible services in Canterbury and surrounding areas.

Football – Canterbury City FC

Work with: Adults with learning disabilities

Where: Canterbury College, New Dover Road, Canterbury

When: Wednesday Evenings 18:00 – 19:00

Cost: £15 Registration, then £4 each time

Swimming – Kingsmead Leisure Centre

Work with: Adults and children with learning disabilities

Where: Kingsmead Leisure Centre, Kingsmead Road, Canterbury

When: Sundays 16:00 – 17:00

Wheelchair Rugby – Canterbury RFC

Work with: Adults and children with physical disabilities (Age 12+)

Where: Canterbury High, The Canterbury Campus, Knight Avenue, Canterbury

When: Wednesday’s 18:00 – 21:00 & Sundays 13:00 – 16:00

Cost: £5 pre-session + you will need to register with GB Wheelchair Rugby

Wheel Chair Tennis – Polo Farm Sports Club

Work with: Adults with physical disabilities

Where: Polo Farm Sports Club, Littlebourne Road, Canterbury

When: One Sunday evening a month 19:00 – 21:00 & One Monday evening a month 19:00 – 21:00

Cost: £5 per session

Cycling – Wheel Potential

Work with: Everyone, all ages

Where: Toddlers Cove Car Park, Whitehall Road, Canterbury

When: Daily – clients choose time slots to hire

Inclusive Gym – University of Kent

Work with: Anyone over 16

Where: The Sports Centre, University of Kent, Canterbury

When: Daily 9:00 -21:30 (17:30 weekends)

Cost: From £4.30 (Inclusive subsidy available)

Canterbury – Para-Badminton

Work with: Adults with physical disabilities

Where: Kings School Recreation Centre, 1 St Stephens Road, Canterbury

When: Tuesdays 20:00 – 21:00

Cost: Available on request (varies depending if a member or non-member)

Dance/Drama – Confidance

Work with: People with learning disabilities aged 16+

Where: Marlowe Lab, Pound Lane, Canterbury

When: Tuesday – 10:00-11:30 (Dance) 12:00-13.30 (Drama)

Boccia – Herne Bay

Work with: All ages with a physical or learning disability

Where: St. Mary’s Retreat Hall, Clarence Road, Herne Bay

When: Friday 13:00-15:00 or 15:30-17:30

Cost: 1st session is FREE then £3 per session (Plus £10 annual subscription each year)
